Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Yevhen Yenin stated that the Ukrainian authorities expect that during the visit of U.S. State Secretary Antony Blinken to Kyiv on May 5-6, the enhancing of political and defensive support of Ukraine will be discussed as Ukraine 24 reported.
According to the official, first of all, this visit is considered “as a signal of extremely powerful support from the United States in counteraction the Russian hybrid aggression”.
“We count for enhancing of our support both in the political and defensive sphere from the side of our main security ally. We count for further support of the course of reforms by the United States and modernization of all spheres of life-sustaining activities, first of all, those that, definitely, tied with the national security and defense,” Yenin stated.
Besides, he added that it is planned to discuss the activation of interaction in the sphere of trade and investments.
“We will talk about the increase of the potency of the mutual cooperation within the international organizations. We will talk about tools of technical aid needed by the Ukrainian economy, including the energy sector,” Yenin reported.
The official also noted that Kyiv will become the first European capital visited by the U.S. State Secretary with a full bilateral visit.
On May 5, U.S. State Secretary Antony Blinken comes with the official visit to Ukraine. However, the official part of the visit will start on May 6. The meeting of Blinken with Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and Prime Minister Denys Shmygal is planned. Besides, Blinken will meet President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
