Energoatom files lawsuit against Russia over lost assets in Crimea

The State Enterprise “National Nuclear Energy Generating Company “Energoatom” is filing a lawsuit against the Russian Federation for compensation for assets lost in Crimea. This was reported by the company's press service.

"On December 17, 2020, NNEGC Energoatom and the international law firm Shearman & Sterling signed an agreement on the provision of services for the preparation and submission of a notice of dispute on behalf of the company to the Russian Federation," the statement said.

The company said that their interests would be represented by a well-known international law firm, which had previously participated in similar cases against Russia and had significant experience in resolving complex investment arbitration disputes.

In a comment to LIGA.net, the company’s interlocutor said that the amount of the lawsuit was nearly 100 million dollars.

As we reported earlier, the Government of the Netherlands has submitted an application to the European Court of Human
Rights over the crash of the Boeing-777 over Donbas.
