Serhiy Taruta, Ukrainian oligarch, presidential candidate, and the MP, claimed his support to the Yulia Tymoshenko, the leader of the Batkivshchyna party and the presidential candidate in the elections 2019. The MP stated this at the press conference in Kyiv on March 16, as Interfax-Ukraine reported.
Taruta pointed out that he signed the memorandum with Tymoshenko in order to unite in the presidential elections and to win together. According to Taruta, they have similar views concerning bringing peace in Donbas, saving the Ukrainian economy, and the Constitution.
“The time is not for my ambitions now,” the MP added.
It should be noted that Taruruta cannot withdraw his candidature from the elections (7 March was the last day when candidates could withdraw their names from the ballot, - ed.), that’s why his name still will be on the ballot.
As we reported earlier, the Central Election Commission of Ukraine has approved the final list of presidential candidates. Overall 39 candidates will run for the presidency on March 31.
Besides, the Central Election Commission of Ukraine has approved the design of a ballot paper. It would be a 200 x 800 mm sheet of sand color with a two-tone watermark and protective fibers with the use of protective graphic anti-scanner elements, which are produced with the help of UV-resistant protective fluorescent paints.
