As a result of shelling in the Avdiivka area on Saturday, August 28, eight Ukrainian servicemen were wounded and received combat injuries, according to a Ukrainian delegation in the Trilateral Contact Group.
"During today's shelling of the Avdiivka area and the city itself, nine Ukrainian servicemen were wounded and received combat injuries. During the shelling, the enemy used mortars and artillery with a caliber of 120 and 122 mm, respectively, which is prohibited by the Minsk agreements. The enemy did not react to the JCCC's demands to cease fire," the message says.
It is noted that the convening of an extraordinary meeting of the subgroup on security is not planned, since the Ukrainian side expects a refusal from the Russian side.
On the eve it was reported that the militants fired at the positions of the Ukrainian defenders. A Ukrainian soldier was wounded. Later it became known about three more wounded.
In addition, Ukrzaliznytsia was forced to restrict the movement of trains near the Avdiivka station due to artillery shelling from the territory not controlled by Ukraine. The company noted that the shelling began on the morning of August 28. Avdiivka station workers and passengers were evacuated to shelters. On this fact, law enforcement officers opened criminal proceedings.
