As it was reported, on April 11, pro-Kremlin armed gangs opened fire 20 times. One Ukrainian defender lost his life in combat; another eight were wounded.
'On April 18, a ceasefire will be announced, an Easter ceasefire. We hope it will finally start working', the President said.
The issue was discussed at the recent meeting between Poroshenko and German Chancellor Angela Merkel. They both supported the introduction of ceasefire in Donbas on April 18.
“Yes, we all are fighting for bringing peace to Ukrainian territories. Yes, we have to count casualties today. That is why I am very grateful to the Chancellor that during our discussion we supported the Easter ceasefire regime, which will come into force on April 18, provided Russia abides by these conditions,” the President said.
