Polish President Andrzej Duda and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky exchanged views on the situation on the European-Belarusian border. The dialogue took place by telephone, the press service of the head of state reports.

"An exchange of assessments of the situation on the European-Belarusian border took place. The heads of state noted that there is a hybrid attack, the proper response to which requires joint efforts and cooperation. Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed Andrzej Duda about the development of the security situation in the east of our country and about the steps taken by the Ukrainian side to intensify the work of all negotiation formats for the sake of achieving peace," the message reads.

At the same time, Zelensky called on Poland, as part of the international community, to maintain sanctions against Russia until the full restoration of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. In addition, the heads of Polish and Ukrainian states unanimously assessed Nord Stream-2 as a threat to the security of the whole of Europe.

Zelensky stressed the need for unity of the EU and partners in the issue of sanctions for this project.

As it was reported earlier, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba stated that migrants, troop movements and gas are Russian President Vladimir Putin’s instruments of putting pressure on the European Union in order to achieve the Nord Stream 2 certification.

On September 10, Gazprom declared that North Stream 2 was fully completed. Work on laying the Nord Stream 2 pipeline began in 2018. Its length is 1,230 km. The pipeline is expected to supply 55 billion cubic meters of gas annually from Russia via the Baltic Sea to Germany.

On September 15, the price of gas in Europe broke another record, reaching $950 per a thousand cubic meters for the first time in history.

Later, a group of more than 40 MEPs demanded that the European Commission urgently investigate Gazprom's manipulation and blackmail.

But soon a new problem arose in the European Union - the accumulation of Russian troops on the border with Ukraine. In early November, Politico published new satellite photos taken by Western experts confirm the reports that Russia is again concentrating troops and military hardware on the border with Ukraine. The images were taken by Colorado-based US space technology company Maxar Technologies.

In addition, the situation with the growing flow of migrants on the border between Belarus and Poland has worsened. An increase in the number of illegal migrants was recorded in Lithuania, Latvia and Poland in the summer, following the EU's decision to impose sanctions on Belarus in connection with the forced landing of a Ryanair plane with opposition journalist Roman Protasevich on May 23.

However, the migration crisis escalated in the last month, when illegal immigrants from the Middle East, entering Belarus, tried to break through the Polish border, which is also the EU's external border.

On November 8 on the Polish-Belarusian border a large number of migrants was noticed. Because of this, the Polish government sent a large number of military to the borders. Soon the Belarusian security forces tried to push 35 people to the Polish border, and on November 13 they intended to break through the fence on the border with Poland with the help of a service car.

Later, the illegal migrants began to storm the Polish border in the area of Podlaskie Voivodeship. Migrants threw stones at border guards, but failed to cross the Polish border.
