Duda congratulates Ukrainians on Independence Day

Polish President Andrzej Duda congratulated Petro Poroshenko and Ukrainians on the Independence Day. The press office of the President's Administration reports. 

'I wish to assure you in the respect to the Ukranian nation, which strongly builds an independent state and is ready for the greatest sacrifices in front of the violation of the international law and armed aggression from the side of the neighbor. I want to emphasize the continued support of Poland the sovereignty and the territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders. An expression of this is the initiatives taken in this area at the forum of the UN Security Council, OSCE, European Union and NATO,' reads the message.

Moreover, Duda promised that Poland will facilitate the development of the relations between Ukraine and European Union and NATO. 

'Declaring the further work of Poland for the sake of strengthening the relations of Ukraine with the UN and NATO, and also the support in the realization of ambitious internal reforms, which will bring Ukraine to the standards, adopted in this organizations.  In the interests of Poland and Europe, Ukraine is a modern state with well-functioning economic, which provides the high standard of living to its citizens,' Duda says.

Also, the President expressed hope for the settlement of the issue of history between the states. 

 'Also, hoping to achieve positive results in the dialogue regarding the tragic chapters of our common history. I am sure that the strategic partnership of Poland and Ukraine should be built on the foundation of the truth about the past and in the spirit of Christian values professed by both peoples,' The Polish President noted. 

Andrzej Duda wished prosperity to the Ukrainians.

Reportedly, American President Donald Trump has already congratulated President Petro Poroshenko by claiming that the USA would always support the sovereignty and the territorial integrity of Ukraine.  

Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron congratulated Poroshenko and the Ukranian citizens on the Independence Day. He noted that France stands by Ukraine in searching of the sustainable resolution of the conflict, which takes place in Donbas. 

Pope Francis wished Ukrainians blessings, especially to citizens in the east of Ukraine.

Furthermore, the Leaders of European countries joined in the congratulations. In particular, Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, Philippe of Belgium, and also Governor-General of Australia Peter Cosgrove, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegovic, Captains Regent of San Marino Stefano Palmiero and Matteo Chachi. 

Later, Leader of People's Republic of China Xi Jinping congratulated Ukraine on the Independence Day and rejoiced at its success. 

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier wished a peaceful future and support in the overcoming of political, economic and social challenges.  

Later, Recep Erdogan stressed that Turkey continues supporting the independence and the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
