The implementation of the EU-Ukraine energy bridge that envisages the extension of Burshtyn power hub could be instrumental to upgrade Khmelnytska nuclear power plant. That would also let the plant's workers change the obsolete hardware. Energoatom company that produces half of the electric energy in this country said this in a commentary for 112 Ukraine news agency.

As we reported before, the energy bridge project foresees that the mentioned power hub would be enhanced - due to the inclusion of 2nd reactor of Khmelnytska nuclear power plant, Zakhidnoukrainska substation and Ukraine-Poland interstate power network (Khmelnytska NPP - Rzeszow) into its composition.
