The North Korean military showcased the newly-developed kind of a ballistic missile fired from a submarine. According to the ВВС, several missiles were showed to the public during the military parade in Pyongyang, with the state-run media depicting them as "the most powerful weapon in the world".
"Columns of mechanized units which would demonstrate the inexhaustible might of the armed forces of the Republic were on standby on the avenues leading to the square", said the message by KCNA agency. The medium also claims that "cutting-edge" tactical missiles and artillery systems were showcased during the event.
The DPRK leader Kim Jong-un and a number of top-rank officials were present at the parade timed to the ending of the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea.
Earlier, Kim Jong-un claimed that the United States was his country's "biggest enemy" and promised to expand the military capacity of North Korea, including the nuclear arsenal.
