The shooter who killed Vitaliy 'Sarmat' Oleshko is the former fighter of Tornado volunteer battalion. Anton Herashchenko, the MP from People's Front and the Interior Ministry counselor told that 112 Ukraine TV channel in a commentary on the issue.
'Yes, it's true. Unfortunately, many of those who left to defend Ukraine, could not find a decent job. Those who didn't even try joined the criminal gangs. It's not the first, and unfortunately, I guess, not the last such case. The war reveals the instincts of people, which is why these things happen. The killer will be severely punished', Herashchenko said.
According to him, the convict, formerly the sniper of the said unit, may face the life imprisonment for this particular crime.
'As for the rest of the detainees, they are the accomplices in the murder, the sidekicks. They all played certain parts; someone served as a driver, someone turned the victim's attention', Herashchenko added.
The official mentioned that the accomplices have 'no chances' for salvation from custody since there are 'direct testimonies, which point out to the actual killer.'
