Shadow money the extent of which is hard to estimate remained at the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions when Ukraine carried outwards the coal from there. However, all solid fossil fuels from Donbas began to enrich the budget of the aggressor when Ukraine refused from the coal from the Eastern Ukraine. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman expressed such attitude at the question hour at the Verkhovna Rada. 112 Ukraine broadcasted this.
The MP from Self Reliance Semen Semenchenko said that the Donetsk enterpriser Rinat Akhemetov continues to deliver hundreds of thousands of tons of coal from Russia and asked the government when it is going to adopt the ban for such supplies.
Groysman answered ‘It is hard to estimate the extent of shadow money that was in the occupied territories when we carried outwards the Ukrainian coal to our Central Heating and Power Plants to produce the electric power and heating. It is hard to say how the processes took place there, all elements of the Ukrainian metallurgy but it is evident that we did everything to gain time and get rid of dependence because we knew that Russia will block the access to our resources’.
At the same time, he sharply criticized the consequences of the Donbas blockade.
‘I can exactly say that it is on the conscience of the organizers of the blockade, who, as I think, are directly relevant to the special services of Russia, that 100% of the solid fossil fuels and enterprises that paid the taxes to Ukraine definitely enrich the budget of country-aggressor. This is your personal merit. Our aim for today is to continue the diversification of the supplies and continue the fuel switching. Thank you, the country lost more than 1% of GDP and it is the money of doctors, teachers and fund for the Ukrainian security. Possibly, you have something to think about and possibly the country enemy will introduce you to the state case or already did’.
The trade blockade of Donbas began on January 26, 2017, and the initiators of it called themselves to be the veterans of Donbas Conflict. The Prosecutor’s Office opened the investigation due to the fact of the blocking of the road. The emergency state in power industry was implemented on February 17 due to the blockade.
The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed the decree that temporarily stops the transportations of the freights via the clash line in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
