President Donald Trump and President Vladimir Putin are to talk on the phone today, January 28. This will happen for the first time after the inauguration of Trump.
This was reported by ABC News, citing the press service of the President.
The conversation will take place at 7 p.m. Kyiv time (8 p.m. Moscow).
"As it usually happens during such contacts, the sides will naturally exchange opinions on key parameters of the current state of bilateral affairs," Peskov told reporters Friday. "One can hardly expect substantive contacts on the entire range of affairs from this call ... Let us wait and see, let us be patient."
During an interview with Fox News that aired Thursday night, Trump said of Putin, "He called me after I won, but I haven't had a discussion, but I understand we will be having a discussion soon."
It is reported that Peskov hesitated to reveal expectations from this conversation.
The White House announced that the leaders of countries will discuss bilateral relations and issues of national security during the conversation.
