Disengagement in Petrivske and Bohdanivka will be another step towards peace in Donbas, - MP

Disengagement of forces in Petrivske and Bohdanivka could be another step to making peace in eastern Ukraine. Serhiy Lyovochkin, the MP from Opposition Platform - For Life party said so commenting on the start of preparations for the separation of forces in the area of ​​settlements Bohdanivka and Petrivske Donetsk region. 

“We welcome the start of preparations for the separation of forces in the Bohdanivka and Petrivske areas of Donetsk region.  This is proof that, with political will, the peace process can move faster. New opportunities are opening up for a meeting in the Normandy format, where it will be possible to develop a plan for resolving the conflict in Donbas", noticed Lyovochkin.

He said this gives hope for the transition to the implementation of the political part of Minsk agreements.

“Today it is important to combine the efforts of all political forces that want to stop the war and unite the country”, said the politician.

MP also called for improving legislative work and noted that the Opposition Platform - For Life party has necessary bills.

“The Opposition Platform - For Life is the first and the only party to introduce bills necessary for a political settlement. We are ready to discuss them with colleagues, to work in committees in order to finally accept them”, MP said.

“We urge all politicians to abandon their ambitions that harm the peace process and focus on implementing the peace plan to return people and territories. This is what entire Ukraine should expect ”, Lyovochkin added.

Serhiy Lyovochkin, together with members of the parliamentary Committee on National Security and Defense visited Zolote (Lugansk region) to conduct a monitoring mission on November 5.

 The goal of this mission was to find out the current state of disengagement of troops in Donbas.

As we reported earlier, the disengagement of forces in Petrivske may begin on November 8th. It could start only if the military action is stopped. Volodymyr Kravchenko, the Commander of Ukrainian Joint Forces Operation, said that at the briefing.
