The citizen of Ukraine Gennady Lymeshko detained in occupied Crimea served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine under the contract and was dismissed in May 2017. The Department of Communication of the Armed Forces of Ukraine claimed this as Interfax-Ukraine reported.

'This person did military service in the Ukrainian Armed Forces under contract from November 2016 until May 2017. He was dismissed under the article of incompetency', the worker of the department Jozeph Venskovich reported.

Venskovich specified that Lymeshko did the military service in the detachment of the Army and was dismissed due to the persistent breach of the discipline.

Earlier, FSB claimed that the "agent" Ukraine’s Security Service was detained in the occupied Crimea. It is reported that Lymeshko is a native of Kharkiv region and previously served in Donbas conflict zone  as a senior intelligence officer of in-depth intelligence in one of the military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The Court of Simferopil sentenced Lymeshko for two months of prison.

Later, SBU claimed that the information about the detention of the Ukrainian citizen by Russian Special Service is a provocation by FSB.
