Two employees of the Municipality in Denmark were hospitalized with symptoms of cerebral thrombosis and cerebral hemorrhage after being vaccinated against coronavirus with the British-Swedish company AstraZeneca vaccine. One of them died with severe symptoms even before the expiration of the second week after vaccination, Ekstra Bladet reported.
Now scientists check for possible correlation of symptoms with the use of vaccines. And this case became the second recorded in Denmark, when a fatal outcome was recorded after vaccination with AstraZeneca.
In Denmark, the vaccine was suspended on 11 March following the death of a 60-year-old woman to whom it was administered. The FDA will further investigate both cases.
Earlier, as a precautionary measure, a number of countries suspended the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine due to reports of blood clotting disorders in those vaccinated.
AstraZeneca itself last week released a document to reassure its vaccine, stressing that its findings are based on a study of the health status of more than 17 million people vaccinated in the European Union and the United Kingdom.
On March 18, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) announced that the coronavirus vaccine developed by AstraZeneca is safe and effective, and the benefits outweigh the risks.
