The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is working on the Military Security Strategy of Ukraine on the basis of the National Security Strategy proposed by the incumbent President of Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense, citing a statement by Defense Minister Andriy Taran.
It is noted that the document will emphasize the development of a special partnership with NATO with the purpose of gaining full membership in the Alliance.
"The latest National Security Strategy, approved by the Commander-in-Chief, contains a clear imperative to receive an invitation and join the NATO Membership Action Plan. The goal is full membership in the Alliance. This is the starting point for our work on the draft Military Security Strategy," the statement said.
As we reported earlier, on September 5, Ukraine's Defense Minister Andriy Taran and Romanian National Defense Minister Nicolae Ciucă signed an agreement on cooperation in the military-technical sphere.
The agreement expands the partnership between Ukraine and Romania aimed at strengthening security in the Black Sea region.
