Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense reports that most of the actions foreseen by the 2016 reforms plan were completed successfully. Minister Stepan Poltorak said this during his meeting with NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe Curtis Scaparotti.
‘We have practically completed the action plan for 2016. Currently, we’re working with the Alliance’s counselors, preparing documents for strategic planning. The NATO assistance package provided by our partners creates enough of the careful optimism to say we can now reinforce the combat effectiveness of our army,’ the Minister said.
Previously, Poltorak said that next year, the Ministry plans to reform the General Staff of the Armed Forces by 60 percent.
