Ukrainian law enforcers have been investigating two possible lines of inquiry in the death of Vitaliy Shyshov, the leader of the Belarusian House in Ukraine. According to head of the National Police Ihor Klymenko, they consider either suicide or intentional homicide with imitation of suicide.
The official added that the law enforcers are studying the way of life and public activity of Shyshov.
Belarusian House in Ukraine commented on the death of their leader; the activists believe that Shyshov was killed during the special operation planned by Belarusian special services. The respective statement was released on their Telegram channel.
'They put surveillance on him. The police were aware of these facrs. Besides, we received multiple warning from both local sources and our people in the Belarusian Republic; they said there could be a wide range of provocations, including kidnapping and liquidation. Vitaliy took these warnings stoically and with a decent sense of humour, saying maybe it was the way for the Belarusian House to leave the information vaccum", the message said.
The organization believes it was a well-organized operation to take down the Belarusian citizen who was really dangerous for Lukashenko's regime.
Vitaliy Shyshov, the leader of Belarusian House in Ukraine disappeared on August 2. On Tuesday, the Ukrainian police found his body in one of Kyiv's parks; he was hung.
Belarusian house in Ukraine is an NGO that helps Belarusian political prisoners who seek accommodation and work or look for a consultation from a lawyer.
