Vitaliy Shishov, the head of the Belarusian House in Ukraine, was found hanged in a park in Kyiv. The day before, the organization announced that he was missing. The press service noted that Shishov went for a morning run on August 2 and did not return.
The police are considering two versions of Shishov's death - suicide or premeditated murder, said the head of the National Police of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko during a briefing. The police also said that Shishov did not contact law enforcement officers with reports of spying on him. And they denied the information that Shishov had a broken nose. And law enforcement officers said what they managed to establish at the scene.
What do we know about Shishov's death?
The police say that Shishov's body was found in a park, not far from his place of residence. The cell phone and his personal belongings were taken from the scene. At the moment, criminal proceedings have been opened under Art. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ("Intentional Murder"), but all versions will be checked, including murder disguised as suicide.
Vitaliy Shishov's acquaintances told the Belsat edition that previously unknown persons had already followed him while jogging. Also, suspicious people approached him and his girlfriend, tried to talk. Representative of the Belarusian House in Ukraine Yuriy Shchuchko told on the air of "Present Time" that Shishov was hanged with traces of beating on his face.
Shchuchko said that he went out with Vitaly's friends in search of him, while the police were interviewing local residents. When he reached the park, he found Shishov's body.
"This is an old scheme. A man was hanged with traces of beating on his face. Nothing was stolen. He was in ordinary shabby clothes, in which people go in for sports, he only had a phone with him," he said.
The representative of the "Belarusian House" also added that all active members of the organization received information that in Ukraine "there are people from the Special Operations Forces and other units of Belarus for their physical destruction."
“Among other things, such information came from the Security Service. They said that we should be careful, because there is a network of KGB agents in Belarus and everything is possible. Vitaly asked me to take care of the people close to him. He had a strange premonition,” he said.
