De-mining in Kalynivka region can last until November, - Groysman

The works on the de-mining already began and will last until the maximum reconstitution

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman claims that de-mining of the territories near the armament depot in Kalynivka region (Vinnytsia region) can last until the end of November. He claimed this at the press conference in Kalynivka broadcasted by 112 Ukraine.

‘The works already began and will last until the maximum reconstitution. We need about two months to examine 10 000 hectares. The nearest territories are already examined and demined. The work will last until the end of November, we will work, it can happen even earlier and we will examine all 10 000 hectares to not leave any danger for the citizens’, Groysman noted.

Also, he commented the issue of the allocation of the funds on the repayment for the salvaged objects.

‘The state region administration will coordinate everything. The money will be credited to the account till the end of the day and there will be no tie-up. Talking about the material support and help, there is a certain order that is provided and it is also a duty of the state region administration. We will allocate 3.75 million dollars if it is needed, we will allocate 7.5 million dollars if it is needed’.

‘Everything that will be defined by the experts as destroyed will be built, everything that will lie under the capital repair or reconstructed will be capitally repaired and reconstructed. No one will be left alone with these problems, I promise this’, the prime minister added.

Also, Groysman noted that he demands the more reasonable use of funds from the local authorities.

‘The only thing that I demand at the meeting of the Staff is the maximally reasonable use of the funds by the local authorities. If somebody takes a liberty of stealing at least one dollar I will consider this as the looting. We will completely check all expenses and if we find then firstly I will tell to the society who stole the money and then I will do everything to punish this person according to the law’, the prime minister added.

As it was reported earlier, fire at the ammunition storages in Kalynivka of Vinnytsia region began at 22:00 on September 26. Two women suffered in the result of the incident and were hospitalized. Almost 30 000 local citizens were evacuated from the dangerous area.

The Chief Military Prosecutor’s Office of the Central region of Ukraine opened the criminal proceeding due to sabotage. The investigators enquire four versions of the fire in Kalynivka.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman reported on September 28 that the explosions in Kalynivka ceased and the rescuers finished the clearing of the settlements. The evacuated citizens began to come back after 15:00 on September 28.
