On January 21, pro-Kremlin militants launched two attacks on positions of Ukrainian forces in the Donbas combat area. The enemy used Minsk-banned weaponry, namely the 82 mm mortars.
According to the Joint Forces Operation HQ, the armed bandits opened fire from small arms near Krasnohorivka (Luhansk region). They also fired 82 mm mortars, anti-tank grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms near Zaitsevo.
Ukrainian forces took no casualties.
Earlier, a murder took place in the occupied Donetsk. Deputy Commander of the "Special Forces of Interior Troops" of the so-called Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) was shot dead, Interfax-Ukraine reported.
"Oleksiy Kryvulya, a.k.a callsign Green was killed with three shots to the back next to the elevator in his own house", reads the message.
Ukraine’s ombudsman Lyudmila Denisova said it was planned to pass 138 prisoners to the territory controlled by Ukraine for the further serving of sentences from occupied territories of the Luhansk region.
