Spokesman of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that the date of the "Norman Quartet" meeting (the Russian Federation, Germany, France, Ukraine) can be discussed after the full completion of the disengagement of forces and equipment in Donbas. Peskov stated this in a comment to journalists, Interfax reports.
"Let's wait for the completion (of the disengagement of forces – ed.)," Kremlin spokesman told reporters when he was asked about the date of the meeting in "Normandy format".
He noted that the date of the summit is still undetermined, but it is necessary first that all parties confirm the completion of the disengagement of forces in Donbas.
As we reported earlier, The Normandy Four highest level meeting may take place on November 24 or 26. This was reported by DT.UA with reference to a source, close to the President's Office.
If the meeting does not take place on these dates, then, according to the source, the leaders will not be able to gather by the end of the year, and then one can hardly hope that the Quartet meeting will ever take place.
In case the meeting happens, it will discuss the implementation of the Minsk agreements, the "Steinmeier formula", "the special status of Donbas", the Ukrainian control over the border with the Russian Federation, and local elections in the occupied Donbas.
