Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksy Danilov voiced Russian President Vladimir Putin's plan for Ukraine. He told about it in an interview with Ukrayinska Pravda.

"Let's start from the beginning. What is Putin's plan? It is quite simple, we are talking about it publicly - it is the destruction of us as a state," Danilov said.

He said that Russia had occupied Crimea and then occupied parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions in order to divert Ukraine's attention from the peninsula.

"What is Putin's plan today? Internal destabilization in our country. If only internal destabilization occurs, then he will be able to use this destabilization to do his dirty work. The end. If there is no internal destabilization, it will be much more difficult to fulfill the tasks they have set for themselves," he said.

As it was reported in late December, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov stated that Putin wants Ukraine to fall apart into two or three parts.

Danilov also stated that for a full-scale invasion, Russia needs five times more troops than there are now near Ukraine's borders.
