The results of presidential election in Iran, which took place on May 19, are being summed up. According to preliminary data, current head of state, Hassan Rouhani, is leading. This was reported by AFP on Twitter referring to the state television.

"Out of 25.9 million votes counted, Rouhani had 14.6 million and his hardline challenger Ebrahim Raisi 10.1 million," the message reads.

Reuters informs, referring to its own source, that Rouhani receives 21.6 million votes after 37 out of 40 million ballots were counted. Ebrahim Raisi comes next with 14 million of votes.

"Everything has ended, Rouhani wins," the agency quotes its source. He also added that about 4 million votes were left to count.
