The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office launched the criminal proceedings against Serhiy Rybalko, MP of the Radical Party, for the possible state treason. The Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko reported this, as broadcasted by 112 Ukraine.
“Yes, that’s true, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office have launched the criminal case against Serhiy Rybalko, MP of the Radical Party, for state treason”, the Prosecutor General said while answering the questions of the journalists.
Lutsenko emphasised that the criminal proceedings were launched by both the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office. The SBU raid came one day after Ukraine’s unicameral parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, sacked Rybalko from his post as the head of the parliament’s financial committee.
As we reported earlier, in November, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) interviewed employees of the country’s snack giant S.Group Corporation, which belongs to Ukraine’s Radical Party (RPU) MP Serhiy Rybalko due to the fact that the MP is accused of cooperating with the separatists and doing business in the occupied territory.
