The criminal case is opened against the management of Naftogaz based on the accusation of the state treason as reported citing Head of Naftogaz-Ukraine Andriy Kobolev.

“The case concerns the activity of the management of the company. It is hard to investigate the activity of management with no Kobolev name. It is built on the accusations of the state treason. When it was opened, I do not know. I have got the papers on this matter today,” the head of Naftogaz reported.

He noted that the conclusions of the audit of the company were published before the visit of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in Brussels and in the UK that is why the story turned into a scandal.

“I expect that it will be an investigation. Possibly, it is for the best. Time will upend the issue of why the debts were taken for heat workers and other intermediaries. Why we were forced to sell gas to intermediaries in 2019 when the market price became lower than the regulated one? We were the first who start to reduce the price according to which the gas was supplied to intermediaries and they had to sell it to the population at a lower price than established by the Cabinet of Ministers. We always held the same position stating that it harms the interests of Naftogaz and interests of the state,” Kobolev said.
