President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine would create the Crimean Platform to protect the rights of Crimean citizens and de-occupy the peninsula. He stated this during a speech to the Ukrainian parliament, the online broadcast was conducted by 112 Ukraine TV channel.
"You can post funny memes about the guarantees of the Budapest Memorandum as much as you want, but it will not help return our territories. We are looking for new, effective tools in order to get this done. We have returned the Crimean issue to the international agenda. We are creating the Crimean Platform format. This is a coordination of the international efforts set to protect the rights of Crimeans and guarantee the de-occupation of the peninsula," Zelensky said.
It was noted that Ukraine had discussed that initiative in detail with representatives of the EU, the UK, Canada, Turkey, and other international partners.
