Covid-2019: Emergency situation declared in Kyiv region

An emergency situation has been introduced in the Kyiv region. It was stated in the message of the Kyiv regional state administration.

The decision was made at a meeting of the Regional Commission on technogenic-environmental safety and emergencies.

The situation with the coronavirus in the territory of the region was classified as a "biomedical and biological emergency of a regional nature".

The introduced emergency situation is expected to be temporary.

As we reported earlier, as of March 17, Ukraine's Healthcare Ministry reported 14 officially confirmed cases of Covid-2019; two of 14 patients deceased. 

The data is correct as of 8 p.m. Tuesday. Most of the cases are observed in the Chernivtsi region, western Ukraine; one case was registered in the Zhytomyr region, and one more in the Kyiv region. Another two cases were observed in Kyiv. 

Meanwhile, according to Ukraine's MFA, 12 Ukrainians are being treated for coronavirus abroad. In total, 32 Ukrainians are currently under quarantine.
