Ukraine is not going to purchase coronavirus vaccines that have not passed the third stage of clinical trials. This was announced by Health Minister Maksym Stepanov during an hour of questions to the government.
The online broadcast was conducted by 112 Ukraine TV channel.
"I can say that we must use only those vaccines for our patients that are safe. Only those vaccines that have passed all stages of clinical trials should be considered safe. Including the third stage of clinical trials, which is the largest one and which provides vaccination of tens of thousands of people," said the official.
According to him, Ukraine will purchase only those vaccines that are qualified by the WHO.
As we reported earlier, it looks like Ukraine has an opportunity to gain accelerated access to the Covid-19 vaccine.
The profile parliamentary committee recommended the Verkhovna Rada to support bill № 4314 "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Concerning the Prevention of Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19)".
It will allow reducing the period of approval of clinical trials and registration of vaccines and drugs against coronavirus infection.
