Court refuses to declare Zelensky's nationwide poll illegal

The District Administrative Court of Kyiv has considered the case regarding the poll of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which is scheduled for election day, October 25. The court refused to declare the poll illegal. The press service of the court reports.

According to the report, the court opened proceedings on the case and ordered it for consideration under the summary procedure. Since the parties did not come to court, the consideration of the case continued in written proceedings.

A prerequisite for the provision of legal protection by the court is the presence of a real violation of the rights of a person at the time of going to court. The announcement by any subject of power authorities about their intentions to perform any actions for the future cannot be regarded by the court as an action that violates the right of the plaintiff.

As we reported earlier, on October 13, president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky appealed to the citizens and urged them to come to polling stations on October 25 and vote. He also announced the surveys on the elections day that will consist of five questions.
