Kyiv Court of Appeal remained in force the arrest of ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych. This was reported by Interfax-Ukraine, citing a source in the office of the Prosecutor General.
As it was reported earlier, on February 4, 2015, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine deprived Yanukovych of the title of the President as he removed himself from the execution of his authorities and escaped from the country.
The court found Yanukovych guilty of addressing the Russian President Putin and asking him to deploy troops in Ukraine.
Yanukovych is charged with state treason, assistance in deliberate actions against Ukraine’s state border, sovereignty, and territorial integrity and assistance in leading the aggressive war against Ukraine.
On May 4, Pechersk District Court of Kyiv arrested Yanukovych in absentia in the case of usurpation of power.
