The Constitutional Court of Ukraine (CCU) has blocked the implementation of local election results. This was reported by the press service of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP).

The court denied the NACP access to state registers which are used to verify declarations of candidates for senior positions in state bodies. In this regard, no head can be officially appointed.

"The CCU has, in fact, blocked the implementation of the results of the local elections. Thus the appointment of candidates elected to positions, in particular the chairmen of regional and district councils and their deputies, is possible only after they pass special inspections," the statement said.

As we reported earlier, the criminal responsibility for a false declaration was recognized by the Constitutional Court as such that does not correspond to the Main law of Ukraine.

As a result, NACP was obliged to close the register of electronic declarations in order to fulfill the court's decision.

The agency believes that the judges canceled the criminal responsibility in their own interests.
