NABU, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine protested against the recent decision of the Constitution Court of Ukraine.
The judicial authority banned the NABU from recognizing deals on corruption-related cases null and void; however, the NABU insists that by doing so, the Constitution Court makes embezzlement of state enterprises' funds legitimate.
The Bureau left the respective post on Twitter.
'The Constitution Court made the embezzlement of state enterprises' funds legal due to purchases by increased prices, stripping the NABU of the right to demand the illegal deals by turning to the court. This decision is in the interests of chiefs of corruption schemes, not in the interests of Ukraine', reads the statement.
The NABU promised to publish another commentary later.
June 5, the Second Senate of the Constitution Court ruled that the NABU authority in terms of corruption-related deals is non-constitutional. In that current episode, the decision regarded the Zaporizhya Factory of Ferro-Alloys that belongs to oligarch Ihor Kolomoisky; the latter is a close business partner of president Volodymyr Zelensky.
