U.S. Congress is not likely to support the initiative of President Donald Trump’s administration to cut the financial assistance for Ukraine. Senator Jeanne Shaheen said that as quoted by the Voice of America.
‘Ukraine has bipartisan support in Congress; it has a very strong support in the Senate, and I think there will not be support in Congress to do what the Trump administration with respect to cutting their budget,’ the Democrat said.
Previously, Trump’s administration offered amendments to the 2017 state budget, some of which foresee cutting the size of financial aid to be distributed for Ukraine. However, even before that, the Congress approved the decision to give Ukraine $ 560 million by the end of the fiscal year.
