The armed conflicts in Syria and Ukraine would have ceased a long time ago - if there was Russia's political will for that. German foreign minister Heiko Maas said that as quoted by Ukrinform news agency.
According to him, Russia is not interested in the Syrian conflict lasting 'forever'. However, bringing things back to normal is impossible without restoring what was destroyed, and it's unlikely to happen without the Western money.
'Neither Russia, or Iran or Turkey would like to stand for this country alone. It will be international activity, and Germany is ready to contribute to that', the German diplomat said.
He added that Moscow will be offered clear conditions, where such assistance is possible.
