Russia expects that Ukraine will recognize the annexation of Crimea over time

Kremlin commented on the recent scandalous statement of President of Czech President Milos Zeman on the status of annexed Crimea and claimed that the compensation for Crimea to Ukraine is out of the question. Spokesperson of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov claimed this as TASS reported.

According to Peskov, the issue is about the inter-European discussion. And according to Kremlin, ‘it is juristically impossible to talk about the annexation of Crimea, it is incorrect and,  consequently, the compensation is out of question’.

Putin’s spokesperson also claimed that the formulation that Crimea issue can be regulated by repayment is incorrect. Moreover, Kremlin expects that Ukraine will recognize the annexation of Crimea by Russia over time. According to Peskov, Kyiv ‘should bestow respect to the will expression of the millionth population of the peninsula’. ‘Also, we expect that the normalization of the Russian-Ukrainian relation in the future’, Peskov concluded.

Earlier Czech President Milos Zeman claimed that he thinks that the annexation of Crimea by Russia is a solved case and offers to resolve an issue by means of benefits to Ukraine during his speech at PACE. The Ambassador of Ukraine to the Czech Republic called this statement cynical and absolutely unacceptable. Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin noted that it is necessary to react not at the statement of Czech President Milos Zeman towards Crimea but at the motivation of people who offered him to speak.

President Petro Poroshenko claimed that Crimea is not a trade-off. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman thinks a healthy person will never say such thing.
