Coal prices in Europe have risen to a record level over the past 13 years. This happened in the wake of the rise in gas prices, Bloomberg reports.

According to the agency, the cost of coal mined in Europe rose to its highest value since 2008, then for the first time the cost of a ton of coal exceeded $ 200. Now the price has reached $ 137 per ton for delivery in 2022.

It is noted that the price grew in the face of high demand from power plants and against the background of low fuel reserves in Europe. At the same time, deliveries from Australia, South Africa and Colombia are "hindered". The situation is also influenced by a decrease in imports from Russia.
