The decision of FBI Director James Comey on reopening the investigation in the case against Hillary Clinton may be illegal as it can potentially influence the outcome of election campaign greatly. US Senate Democratic Faction Leader Harry Reid announced that, again accusing Donald Trump in tight connections with the Kremlin, reports the BBC Russian Service

In Reid’s opinion, disclosing the reopening of the investigation on Hillary Clinton’s case by James Comey ten days before the elections can be a breach of the “Hatch Act” that forbids executive branch representatives to influence elections.

“You have probably broken the law with your biased actions,” declared Reid.

Furthermore, according to the Democratic Faction Leader, after Comey’s step it is obvious that FBI hides “exposable information” about connection of Clinton’s opponent Donald Trump and his closest associates with the Kremlin.

The day before Clinton herself criticized the FBI Director for announcing to public about investigation reopening without confirming if the newfound evidence in the case against her is in any way significant.

"It is pretty strange to put something like that with so little information right before the elections. It’s not just strange. It’s unprecedented, and it’s deeply troubling. Voters deserve to get the full and complete facts,” said the candidate for US presidency and called Comey to “tell everything”.

Earlier the FBI Director James Comey announced that the bureau reopened case investigation, concerning Hillary Clinton’s usage of personal mail server for work related correspondence during her being a State Secretary. According to him, this is connected to newly discovered big number of e-mails.
