Hillary Clinton blamed FBI director James Comey for her stunning defeat in Tuesday's presidential election in a conference call with her top campaign funders on Saturday, Reuters reports.
Comey sent a letter days before the election announcing that he was reinstating an investigation. A week later Comey announced that he reviewed the mails and believed she should not be prosecuted, but political damage was already done.
Hillary Clinton was projected as election favorite by almost every poll, but Republican Donald Trump won the election instead, shocking many Americans throughout the nation.
Assumptions about Clinton using her personal mail for storing classified materials and conducting official correspondence appeared in 2015.
