China urges the Ukrainian government to protect the rights of Chinese investors of Motor Sich company. Hua Chunying, the official representative of China's Foreign Ministry said so during the press conference.
According to her, the Chinese government has been closely watching the process of nationalization of the enterprise.
"We took the respective messages into consideration. China demands that Ukraine defend legal rights and interests of Chinese enterprises and investors according to the law, and solve related issues duly", the official said.
Earlier, on January 29 President Volodymyr Zelensky imposed sanctions against the Chinese investors of Motor Sich. Sanctions were imposed for three years. Among the restrictions applied are the blocking of assets, the restriction of trade operations and the prevention of capital outflows from Ukraine.
PJSC Motor Sich is one of the world's largest manufacturers of engines for aircraft and industrial gas turbines. It delivers products to more than 100 countries.
