Valeriy Chaly, Ukrainian Ambassador to the USA claimed that mass media has misrepresented his words about Ukraine’s request for the purchase of military equipment and weapons from the USA. He claimed this on the air of Radio Svoboda.

‘Unfortunately, many mass media have misrepresented what I’ve said, having brought together the phrases from different parts of the interview. Indeed, it is true that we work on this. Saying that there is a specific request for the number of air-defense systems – first of all, it is a top secret information, the work is being carried out though, and will be kept carried out,’ Valeriy Chaly said.

Earlier, mass media disseminated the information with a reference to Valeriy Chaly on that Ukraine sent a formal request to Washington about the acquisition of the air-defense systems of $750m for one unit, if necessary, at least three corresponding military complexes for the Ukrainian army.
