The Central Election Commission (CEC) asks Donetsk and Luhansk region state administrations and military-civilian administrations to give their opinion on the possibility of organizing the preparation and holding of extraordinary elections to the Verkhovna Rada in the territories that are part of single-mandate constituencies. The press service of the CEC reports this.
Thus, the regular session of the CEC took place on Monday, May 27.
“The Commission, by its decision, appealed to the Donetsk and Luhansk regional state administrations - military and civilian administrations to make conclusions on the possibility of organizing the preparation and holding of special elections of MPs of Ukraine on July 27, 2019, in accordance with the law, in the territories within the limits of the region that are part of single-mandate constituencies, determined by the № 82 decision of the CEC as of April 28, 2012…” the report said.
The Commission expects to receive this information from Donetsk and Luhansk regional state administrations until June 3.
Besides, the CEC amended to its decision №18 of January 26, 2012 On the requirements for the premises of district election commissions for the elections of MPs of Ukraine, the norms for providing electoral commissions with equipment, inventory, vehicles, communication and office equipment, other materials, types of services that election commissions can purchase at the expense of the State Budget of Ukraine.
In addition, amendments were added to the resolution №18 of the CEC as of April 21, 2013, On a clarification of the procedure for amending the constituency and members of the district election commissions for elections of MPs of Ukraine.
On May 24, the electoral process kicked off in Ukraine; early parliamentary elections are scheduled for July 21, 2019, as the press office of Central Election Commission reported.
