The ceasefire mode has taken effect in Syria's province of Idlib. Turkish President Recep Tayip Erdogan said this during the joint press conference with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. Anadolu quoted the official as saying.
"Tonight, starting from 00.01, the ceasefire mode in Syria's Idlib is taking effect", he said. According to Erdogan, there's a need to change the status of Idlib de-escalation area. "Shaping the new status quo in Idlib de-escalation area is inevitable", he said, after the tragic events that became consequences of "the attacks by Bashaar al-Assad's supporters, which also resulted in the deaths of Turkish military".
Erdogan added that the entire responsibility for the breach of agreements in Idlib lies with the supporters of Assad.
He added that Turkey has made decisive steps to divert the aggressive actions of Assad's sidekicks in Idlib. Accordign to him, Russia and Turkey will as soon as possible see to it that the ceasefire holds; and then, further steps will be taken.
