Catalonia referendum: 90,18% for independence with 43% voter turnout

The Catalan government published the results of the referendum for the independence of the region, which took place on October 1, on their website.

According to them, 90,18% voted for the independence, 7,83% didn’t write anything, while the voter turnout constituted 43%.

According to the data, 2,044,038 people want Catalonia to be independent, out of those 2,286,217 people who cast votes.

As it was reported earlier, a referendum on Catalonia independence was held on October 1, at the backdrop of clashes with the police, in which three people died, and more than 460 were injured. That very day, hundreds of people went to a demonstration against the referendum in Catalonia and in support of Spain's unity in Madrid.
