On the night from 19 to 20 January a group of unidentified persons set fire to private cars of employees of the Ukrainian Embassy in Greece. This was stated on the air of 112 Ukraine by the Foreign Ministry spokesman Mariana Betza.

The Foreign Ministry reported that in the near future, Pavlo Klimkin will hold a telephone conversation with the Greek minister.

In addition, the territory that is adjacent to the embassy building was a target for Molotov cocktails of the people.

The speaker also said that as a result of illegal actions, no one was hurt.

"We do not exclude that it was committed by the radicals under the influence of Russia, by the way, the Russian websites in Greece were the first to report on this," Betza said.

Earlier we reported that Greek authorities promised to cooperate on the issue and there will be round-the-clock security of the building. Ukrainian Embassies in other countries will intensify the security measures as well.
