Career diplomat, ex-ambassador of Ukraine to South Africa Valery Hrebenyuk replaced Roman Bezsmertny at his position at the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) as Pryamy reported citing correspondent of Radio Liberty Valery Kalynovsky.
“The replacement is found for Roman Bezsmertny at the negotiations in the political subgroup. Valery Hrebenyuk represented Ukraine this time…And it is important that he was born in Luhansk region and knows it,” the journalist reported.
According to him, the political subgroup still failed to reach the progress during the negotiations.
The Steinmeier formula, the possible amnesty and possible elections were discussed at the meeting of the TCG representatives. Kalynovsky also underlined that on August 21 it was exactly the month from the entry into force of another ceasefire regime.
On August 13, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed Roman Bezsmertny from the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on Donbas.
On June 19, Volodymyr Zelensky authorized Bezsmertny to present Ukraine in the task subgroup on the political issues at Minsk Talks instead of Oleksandr Motsyk.
