The Ukrainian sailors captured in the Kerch Strait are so far on the territory of the annexed Crimea. Ahtem Chyigoz, the deputy head of the Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people said that as quoted by Krym.Realii

Chyigoz added that the information was received from his own reliable sources.

'Ukrainian sailors are in the pre-trial detention center of Simferopol', Chyigoz said.

Russian lawyer Nikolai Polozov, who is about to defend Ukrainian sailor Denys Hrytsenko (the crew member of Berdyansk gunboat, one of the three captured vessels, - 112 International), said he could not confirm if Ukrainians were supposed to be transferred from Crimea to Russia.

On November 25, Ukrainian vessels were attacked in Kerch Strait; the Russian naval forces opened fire on two gunboats and a tugboat, injuring six Ukrainian sailors. The vessels and the crew members were captured, and the wounded ones were taken to a hospital. The Crimean 'prosecutors' charge them with the 'illegal crossing of Russian territorial waters'.
