The Standing Committee on National Defence of Canada recommends that Canada supply Ukraine with lethal arms, given that Ukraine demonstrates active work on combating corruption in the country, according to the report published by the Committee.

“That the Government of Canada provide lethal weapons to Ukraine to protect its sovereignty from Russian aggression, provided that Ukraine demonstrates it is actively working to eliminate corruption at all levels of government,” the report reads.

Among other recommendations, there are advocating for deploying a UN peacekeeping mission in Donbas, increasing Canada’s contribution to the OSCE SMM, promoting gender equality in Ukraine, increasing cooperation in governmental and defence spheres, and announcing a plan for a visa-free travel regime for Ukrainians.
