Foreign Ministry of Canada published the appeal on the results of the phone talk between the representatives of Ukraine, Afghanistan, Sweden and the UK with the demand to Iran to observe the international norms and pass the black boxes of downed Ukrainian plane for decryption as the ministry reported.
“All countries are concerned with Iran’s failure to release the black boxes. Annex 13 to the Convention on Civil Aviation requires this take place without delay. Iran must release the black boxes immediately as a demonstration of continued willingness to have a full and transparent account of this event,” the statement said.
Besides, the Canadian side noted that the Transport Minister and Foreign Minister expressed their concern on this issue officially to the International Civil Aviation Organization.
The partakers of the talk also agree that it is necessary to continue put pressure on Teheran ‘to secure closure, accountability, transparency and justice for the victims of flight PS752’.
“Furthermore, all participants are committed to finding common ground on legal options for negotiations with Iran regarding its responsibility in this act in order to bring justice, including equal compensation to the families of the victims of flight PS752,” the Foreign Ministry noted.
Earlier, Ambassador of France to Ukraine Etienne de Poncins stated that Ukraine can count on France's assistance if there is a demand for the transportation of PS752 black boxes to France.
According to the French ambassador, he has officially informed Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs about the readiness of Paris to help.
