Canada has been capturing a biometric data of all visa applicants with the Ukrainian citizenship since July 31. The Immigration Ministry of Canada reports about it, Ukrinform.
"The biometric data (fingerprints and e-photo) will be required for those who apply for tourist visa, work permit, study, or permanent residence in Canada. The biometric data of each applicant will be captured once in ten years, regardless of the duration of the issued visa," the message says.
It is noted that the cost of a visa to Canada increased with the implementation of the biometric control as the cost of the biometrics capture was added to it. Previously, tourist visa to Canada cost $140, and now it is $190.
As the government of Canada reported earlier, they do not consider a possibility of implementing a visa-free regime with Ukraine as Ukraine does not meet certain requirements of Canada.
As we reported, Ukraine and Georgia agreed to speed up the process of implementation of trips between countries using internal biometric passports.
